Day 6-Port Royal and Annapolis Royal

Our day began with a fascinating journey back in time as we toured Port Royal, a replica of the Habitation of Port Royal established in 1605. After presentations on community life and Native life, we toured the rooms, including a replica of Louis Hébert’s apothecary.

As we left Port Royal, we made a stop at the site of the Melanson settlement.

After lunch, Alan Melanson gave us a tour of Annapolis Royal. We saw the wharf from which many of our ancestors were deported, and we ended with a tour of Saint-Jean-Baptiste Parish Cemetery.
